03/05/2010 - Ingate offers SIP Video use cases
The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) standard is taking our industry by storm and the next move for the protocol is to enable video. Ingate has been pioneering such an approach and sat down with TMCNet to describe some of the features.
The company has been using SIP Video to make ad hoc video calls using only a laptop and a mic rather than a whole bunch of other expensive technology. Of course, the hardware to take advantage of SIP has to be in place to use the solution, but once it's there, adding video isn't much trouble--running like any other application on the Internet.
Ingate described two customers that use its video solution: Omnitor, a company that provides sign language interpretation services, uses the instant-on video technology to quickly make interpreters available anywhere; and Librestream which uses the video conferencing solution to bring its field support team to a site virtually to support the equipment and machinery it builds.

22/03/2010 - VoiceCon: New Ingate deployment demos bridge between SIP trunks and Microsoft OCS
Ingate, a session border controller (SBC) vendor, announced a new deployment today at VoiceCon to spotlight how their SBC could bridge a SIP trunk with Microsoft OCS. Their customer deployed SIP trunks from BBTelsys and uses Microsoft Office Communications Server for their unified communications (UC) needs.
Since Microsoft OCS 2007 uses TCP/IP for its core UC protocol and SIP trunks use UDP, Ingate employed their SIParator, an enterprise SBC, to deal with interoperability. The device enables SIP trunking by resolving Network Address Translation traversal of SIP traffic. Using Ingate's SIP Trunk Software module the SBC normalizes the SIP signaling between the Microsoft OCS server and the SIP trunk service to solve interoperability issues. SIParator can also secure VoIP calls made over the SIP trunk.

20/01/2010 - Dialogic to Provide “Any-to-Any” PBX Connectivity for SIP Trunking

Dialogic announced that it has entered into an agreement with Ingate Systems and says this allows them to incorporate the SIP Trunking software module from Ingate into a new enterprise border element designed to connect virtually any SIP trunk with virtually any PBX, to facilitate seamless SIP trunk deployments in legacy TDM and hybrid PBX environments, as well as new SIP-based PBX systems.
26/10/2009 - Ingate intros new E-SBC for SIP
Ingate Systems, a 2006 Fierce 15 winner and maker of enterprise Session Border Controllers (SBCs) for SIP, just introduced their IX78 Enterprise Session Border Controller (E-SBC) from their sister company Inertex Data AB.
The new technology is a security edge device that enables service providers to launch large-scale SIP trunk services. According to Ingate, the new device speeds up SIP service deployment because it solves interoperability issues and NAT and firewall traversal problems. It achieves interoperability by normalizing SIP signaling between SIP trunk service and the SIP-enabled PBXs.
"Service providers are offering SIP trunks to increase ROI on VoIP installations," said Steven Johnson, President, Ingate Systems in the release. With the new device, "service providers can deliver seamless, secure SIP trunks to a much larger number of customers--immediately."
