09/03/2010 - ASC to Exhibit New VoIP Recording and Quality Monitoring Solutions
UC Expo is widely considered to be Great Britain’s leading business communications event focusing on collaboration, mobile, visual and voice solutions. More than 100 exhibitions and seminars will be presented for a target audience of IT and telecommunications professionals, system integrators, infrastructure providers and end users.
ASC’s new version of its award-winning VoIP recording software, EVOip 10.0, offers the strictest adherence to security requirements, meeting the payment card industry’s PCI DSS standards. Other new features include one-click backup and dynamic enterprise licensing. New and enhanced integrations with Aastra MX ONE and Avaya ACM complement the existing range of integrations with major IPT vendors including Alcatel, Mitel, Siemens, Cisco, 3Com.
EVOip captures telephone calls from the network and enables storage, playback and archiving of the entire interaction. The software can record encrypted calls, and is entirely software based. Many functions may be accessed directly through the IP phone, such as record-on-demand, start/stop, keep/delete and search-and-replay for recorded calls.
INSPIRATIONpro 10.0, ASC’s new quality monitoring solution, now facilitates agent evaluations through the recording of coaching sessions. It also allows complex searches of audio analytics, particularly useful for high-volume call centers with an otherwise unmanageable number of conversations.
INSPIRATIONpro helps call center managers learn about their agents’ service level through analysis and evaluation of recorded call data and screen activities. Other features include real-time contact between agents and supervisors without the customer’s knowledge, and a user-friendly browser-based interface for access from any location.

29/06/2009 - ManageEngine Upgrades VoIP Quality Monitoring Software
ManageEngine announces
an update to its VoIP quality monitoring solution, VQManager, focused on meeting the
management requirements of VoIP service providers. The latest release, VQManager 6.2,
greatly improves on the application's existing VoIP packet processing capability,
making it possible to support larger VoIP environments, monitoring up to 1000 simultaneous
VoIP calls. And because larger environments are apt to have multiple operating systems,
the new VQManager is designed to perform equally well on different versions and flavors
of Windows and Linux operating systems.
To assist growing VoIP service providers, ManageEngine is now also making VQManager available in a licensing model where pricing is based upon the number of simultaneous calls to be monitored. Service providers leasing VoIP trunks on an 'x' dollar per month per trunk basis can now affordably purchase a VoIP monitoring solution to manage present traffic volumes instead of having to acquire expensive, huge-capacity software so early in the business' growth phase. As their VoIP network grows, service providers can upgrade VQManager to higher concurrent call licenses, paying only the difference between the existing and the new number of licenses.
VQManager is a VoIP quality monitoring software that detects and analyzes SIP, H.323 & Skinny protocols along with RTP and RTCP media. The solution monitors each and every call in real-time, throughout the day, to provide the VoIP engineer a sound troubleshooting platform to diagnose and analyze VoIP performance degradations. VQManager's deep, packet-level analysis of a VoIP call allows a wide range of critical information to be reported, including: Protocol type, codec used, octets transferred, call initiation time, call set-up time, call ringing time, duration of call, call participants' names, URL and IP address, and call participant-specific QoS values viz. MOS, delay, jitter, packet loss and R Factor. Over 30 built-in reports, including concurrent call reports, carrying months of call data, help service providers make better capacity planning decisions.
Key feature additions found in VQManager 6.2 include:
- Improved performance to support environments with up to 1000 simultaneous VoIP calls
- An exclusive licensing and pricing model for VoIP Service Providers based on concurrent calls
- Full support for Cisco CallManager 6.x and 7.1 environments
- Support for processing Avaya S8700 CDRs, Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1 and 7.0 CDRs
- Ability to create 'Schedulers' for predefined reports and e-mail them as PDF files.
- Enhanced multi-day reporting to provide day-specific averages on ASR, ACD, MOS etc.

"Skype is the first internet communications software provider to deploy SpinVox, further reinforcing our position as the only provider of voice to text messaging services which are used daily by millions of people on five continents," says SpinVox co-founder and CEO, Christina Domecq. "Our user base has grown over twenty-fold in the last 12 months and bringing Skype's voicemail subscribers on board will accelerate this trend."
Skype executives touted the flexibility the new system gives Skype users. Each voicemail-to-text conversion will cost the user an additional $0.25 more than the standard Skype SMS rate for their location. Users can set a limit on the number of conversions allowed per day, and restrict the service to messages from certain contacts.

26/01/2009 - IBM clouds up for UC
Last week at the annual Lotussphere conference, IBM announced it would make its Lotus collaboration software family available in a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, using its cloud services project as the delivery platform.
Announced last week, LotusLive will include hosted services such as messaging, conferencing and networking with a user interface that looks like Lotus's enterprise offerings. Plug-ins will connect online and on-premise software.
IBM appears to have its work cut out for it in the unified communications arena. It needs to integrate the online messaging technology it recently purchased from Outblaze, tie together the online suite offerings with on-premise software, woo the SMB market, and establish a reseller channel.
The company also needs to clarify and deliver various parts of its vision. A beta of LotusLive Engage was introduced, but critics say the product is "ill-defined, immature and reactionary." Engage is a web-based bundle of services including email, IM, web conferencing, file sharing, charts and forms. IBM has promised bundles targeted to specific industries and needs, with delivery on bits and pieces occurring throughout 2009.
In addition, IBM also announced partnerships with LinkedIn, Salesforce.com and Skype to integrate those services into LotusLive. Analysts say IBM is in a race to deliver its vision against Microsoft, Google and other cloud players.

28/10/2008 - Consumers Turning to Web-Based Calling
In
a tough economy, cutting costs becomes a top priority, and businesses and individuals
who regularly make calls abroad may begin to think twice before picking up that phone.
Many international callers are turning to a low-cost, easy-to-use service with a wide
range of calling options. Beginning at 1.3 cents per minute, with no additional fees, VOXOFON international
calling services allow customers to call using their computer, their land line, their
cell phone, a smart phone, or even a calling card.
Recently named by VoIP News as one of the best services to use during the economic downturn, VOXOFON has also been called "one of the coolest new phone services" by several industry publications due to its variety of easy-to-use service options.
Users of iPhone will like VOXOFON's web application that looks and feels similar to the built-in iPhone dialer, and the company recently announced an application for phones using the Android platform.
In addition, an attractive option for businesses with international operations -- as well as for friends and relatives without access to a computer -- is VOXOFON's virtual phone line. Currently available in 54 countries, this is a dedicated local telephone line that a customer in the United States can set up in another country. When the number is called, it rings in the United States, but the overseas caller is charged for a local call.
Unlike other similar services, with VOXOFON there is no need to download or install any special software whether you are calling from a phone or a computer. And all VOXOFON services are available under a single account, providing customers with the flexibility to use the service they find most convenient.

14/10/2008 - PhoneFusion's Fusion Voicemail Plus for BlackBerry Now Out of Beta
PhoneFusion
announces that Fusion Voicemail Plus for BlackBerry smartphones is now out of beta.
The beta version of this free visual voicemail application has been available since
June for any BlackBerry device on any U.S. wireless carrier. The downloadable voicemail
application gives BlackBerry users the ability to centralize all of their voicemail
boxes and see -- right on the screen of their mobile device -- a list of their voicemail
messages. The service also allows users to listen to their voicemails directly from
their BlackBerry. BlackBerry users -- whether or not they are an existing PhoneFusion
customer -- can access Fusion Voicemail Plus v 1.0 at www.fusionvoicemailplus.com.
The free service also comes as a standard feature in the PhoneFusion One solution.
Based on the feedback from BlackBerry users testing the service, the new version of Fusion Voicemail Plus includes several updated features and fixes to the previous beta version. Some changes include:
- Sync Fusion Voicemail Plus with OS profile notifications (i.e. custom ringtones, quiet mode, etc.)
- Message playback available through headphones
- Delete multiple messages at once
- Empty trash function no longer deletes from the device if there is a network communication failure
- While deleting messages on trackwheel models, navigation and other menus are not accessible
Fusion Voicemail Plus centralizes multiple voicemail boxes in one place, accessible from the subscriber's mobile device. After signing up at www.fusionvoicemailplus.com, the subscriber receives a message on their device with a link that will allow them to easily download the Fusion Voicemail Plus application. The user then changes their voicemail access number from any of their other voicemail systems (e.g., home, wireless carrier, VoIP, office) to a single PhoneFusion One phone number.
All calls that would normally go to the other designated voicemail boxes will come directly to the person's Fusion Voicemail Plus. The service notifies the user through audible, visual and tactile means that a new voicemail is available for listening, listing the voicemail messages right on the screen of their mobile phone. In addition to accessing voicemail directly from their smartphone, users also have the option to access Fusion Voicemail Plus from any web browser or via the traditional phone. Unlike other visual voicemail services, Fusion Voicemail Plus is totally free and has no limitations on the number of messages it sends to users phones.
Fusion Voicemail Plus is already available on any cell phone network for Windows Mobile 5 and 6. Future releases are scheduled for Palm, Symbian, Android and LINUX mobile. A J2ME version is also planned.

The result is a highly valuable, dynamic list which uses fring?s always-connected ability to continually update contact availability info, displaying in real-time whether friends are online, away, offline, free or already in a call or an IM chat. This provides a new level of freedom to interact with all of your online contacts from your mobile just as if you were in front of your PC.
And fring has made it easier than ever to get started and manage your online communities; a new, convenient Add-on menu for iPhone, displaying all of your favorite online communities makes it easier than ever to select and integrate all of your online buddies into fring, so you can keep in touch and interact with your online world at the tap of a screen. mobile integration products. In creating a new suite of enterprise products that enable
easy deployment and use of mobile PBX integration software, EMCC has built up extensive
expertise in mobile VoIP. EMCC has developed a cross-platform VoIP engine capable
of being installed on S60, Windows Mobile and other platforms that may lack built-in
VoIP capability. The comprehensive VoIP engine can easily be deployed ?Over the Air?
to handsets based on S60 and other Smartphone platforms. It is a fully functional
engine that does not rely on any of the in-built handset capabilities.
?Our technical expertise and platform experience has enabled us to overcome a major hurdle that prevented effective deployment of a VoIP solution across the S60 platform which accounts for around 50% of the smartphone market? said Garry Partington, CTO. ?We were concerned that the uncertainty caused by the absence of such a solution on certain handsets may be a limiting factor for companies wishing to develop VoIP solutions. EMCC understands the need to remove such uncertainty and are happy to discuss potential options with organizations wishing to pursue such a solution."
