13/10/2010 - LG Electronics 'surprise' picks LG-Ericsson for its UC
At first I thought, "Well of course they did." But then I thought well this is a pretty good case of putting your money where your mouth is. If you think the UC joint venture you are involved in is any good, you probably should deploy it across your company.
LG Electronics is deploying Korea's largest-ever enterprise network project to 30,000 employees worldwide using LG-Ericsson's iPECS enterprise communications solutions. The company will deploy the system at LG's headquarters and at 80 overseas offices around the world. When it's all deployed employees at the HQ and all over the world will have access to key UC features like instant messaging, document sharing, click-to-call, presence and virtual meetings.
The LG HQ will have an LG-Ericsson's iPECS-CM, Pure IP PBX for large and medium sized business, and approximately 10,000 units of the LIP 8000 series desktop phones. Big offices in Korea, US, China, and Europe will each get an iPECS-CM acting as the main server to help stabilize operational services overseas. LG-Ericsson will also install its small to mid-sized business IP PBX, the iPECS-LIK, at every overseas location--capable of taking over local operations during network interruptions. All of these solutions will be managed with LG-Ericsson's Network Management Solution (NMS).
