30/04/2009 - XCast Labs relaunches SIPTalk service, cuts rates

XCast Labs relaunched its SIPTalk consumer-facing brand Thursday and cut rates to "support the ongoing global economic recovery." XCast says the new SIPTalk rates could serve as a way for consumers and small businesses to decrease telephony costs as they try to cut back in tough economic times.

"Internet Voice Services are typically cost-effective, more fully-featured alternatives to traditional land-lines for the consumer and business user," said XCast CEO, Cliff Rees. "With the global economy struggling to bounce back, offering our quality, highly functional service for as low as $9.95 per month enables families and friends to stay in touch for less.  In addition, our low-cost IP-PBX and SIP Trunking services allow businesses to expand their communications while reducing cost."

Rees said SIPTalk can afford to cut rates, because the company developed all its technology in house, so it doesn't have to pay costly licensing fees for Session Border Controllers and softswitches, among other things.

The new price packages start at $9.99 a month for 300 minutes of calling anywhere in the continental U.S. and Canada. SIPTalk Infinity offers unlimited minutes and expands the range to include Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands for $19.99 month. SIPTalk Global, the premium consumer package, goes for $24.95 per month and offers unlimited calling to the U.S., Canada and 60 other countries globally.
