Unisys Corp. (NYSE: UIS) has teamed with VCE to make its Unisys Secure Private Cloud Solution part of Vblock Systems and available to Vblock clients.

VCE, the Virtual Computing Environment company, was formed by Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) and EMC, with investments from VMware (NYSE: VMW) and Intel (Nasdaq: INTC), in an effort to accelerate the adoption of converged infrastructure and cloud-based computing models. VCE's Vblock platform is an integrated IT offering that leverages the IT infrastructure of a broad array of vendors. Unisys is a VCE systems integrator and Vblock system reseller.

The Unisys-VCE solution can be deployed as a custom cloud platform or integrated into a broader cloud infrastructure.

"Unisys adds innovative cloud capabilities to VCE's powerful Vblock Systems, helping clients better protect their business data, gain on-demand access to IT services and control costs," Rod Sapp, vice president of data center transformation and outsourcing products and technology for Unisys, said in a statement. "We complement these capabilities with services to help VCE clients plan their cloud strategy, implement the integrated Unisys-VCE solution quickly and manage it efficiently."
