Users showing no love for softphones?

Softphones are struggling to gain traction because they don't translate well to mobile use since battery life on a smartphone is too short to make them viable; they're also running into user pushback because the desktop computers they're running on take too long to boot up, said Jamie Romanin, ShoreTel's regional director for Australia and Asia. Romanin said even though ShoreTel offered a softphone app on its desktop client, few customers were using it because of the inconvenience associated with waiting for a computer to boot. Article
