Skype WiFi lets Skype users use over 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots globally. |
The new iOS app, now available on Apple's App Store, gives Skype users access to more than 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots globally.
Users need to be running iOS 4.1 or above with multi-tasking.
Skype is pitching the Wi-Fi app as "great for travelers." If you've ever gotten stuck buying 24-hour access to other services, Skype's deal, which charges only for the minutes you use, isn't a bad deal; you can avoid data roaming charges when you update Facebook, send a tweet, make a Skype call or upload photos.
Prices through Skype start at six cents per minute.
