Just about everyone is embracing Android these days. (Except for Nokia.) CounterPath has just announced their Android app for their VoIP softphone, Bria.

CounterPath released an iPhone 4 version of Bria back in August. It features the ability to call numbers right from the phone's contacts as well as switch between calls, merge and split calls and perform attended and unattended transfers. The app supports calls over 3G and WiFi networks, is SIP-compliant and it can work with equipment from vendors like Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, BroadSoft, Metaswitch, Avaya, and Cisco.

CounterPath is demoing the Bria Android app at Metaswitch Forum 2010. Check it out if you are at the event or wait till October for the official release.
